Barn and Outbuilding Roof Replacement in Miami County
Published
Rural properties around Casstown, Covington, Fletcher, and Pleasant Hill often have more roof area on the outbuildings than the house. Different structures, different approach.

Panel over purlins
Most older barns have purlins rather than solid decking. Exposed-fastener ag panel screws directly to purlins and is the economical standard. Standing seam requires either solid decking or a purlin spacing that supports clip attachment.
Structural check first
Before quoting a barn roof we assess purlin condition and rafter integrity. There's no point installing 40-year steel on framing that's rotting at the bearing points.
Condensation control
Metal over an open, unconditioned barn drips condensation heavily. A drip-stop membrane bonded to the panel underside or a properly installed vapor barrier prevents equipment and hay from getting soaked.
Cost
Ag panel typically runs a fraction of residential roofing per square foot, and large simple roofs are efficient to install. We quote house and outbuildings together to reduce mobilization costs.
If any of this applies to your own home, our roof replacement crews handle it every week, and you can see how we work in your area on our Covington, Ohio roofing page. Inspections and written estimates are free either way — call 937-749-7767.
